BATMAN PROTEST AT PALACE
A Fathers 4 Justice campaigner dressed as Batman has carried out a protest on a balcony at Buckingham Palace.
Jason Hatch, 33, from Gloucester, managed to reach the royal residence despite the presence of armed guards, the group said.
Hatch, standing on a ledge to the right hand side of the main balcony, unfurled a banner that read: "Super dads of fathers 4 justice. Fighting for your right to your kids".
The Queen was not at the Palace as she is away enjoying her summer break at Balmoral in Scotland.
Hatch scaled the outer fence helped by accomplice Robin - Dave Pyke - while other protesters distracted armed police by climbing on the front gate.
The pair then used a 10ft extendable ladder to climb on to the building itself.
Mr Pyke, 48, from Cheltenham, said it was "unbelievably easy" for the pair to get into the Palace grounds.
He agreed to come down the ladder when police pointed a gun at him, but by that time Hatch had already scaled the fence.
Mr Pyke was later taken away by officers. An investigation is under way into the security breach.
