See ladies and gentlemen, what wesbob2k4 just did is called a "flip flop".
His first post is that all waiters need to get paid. Then in his second post only minutes later, he says that everyone needs to get paid based on the quality of their work.
"Bottom line: The harder a server works the more money they should make" - this quote is defending the customer in the case. He possibly thought that this server did not deserve 18%, so he did not pay it.
Very reasonable.
