well, that does not make US people better than anyone else in the world ... and if you look at it in a historical context, it may change again over time (there was a time when France or the UK was the #1). True. But I originally asked:
"Can someone tell me why I would be better off on a personal level living in the usa compared to say, france, spain or finland?"
On personal level it doesn't mean jack shit if your country is an economical power or have the biggest military, unless you want to believe that.
