You are correct. The quote in my sig has to do with abiogenesis, not with evolution as a process. However, the VAST MAJORITY of evolutionists believe in abiogenesis. Hoyle was pointing out that this is impossible.
I agree that there is significant evidence for evolution as a process, specifically MICROevolution. There is comparatively little evidence supporting MACROevolution. The fossil record bares that out.
