You don't understand your own quote. Evolution is a process that has been observed many times in nature, it has VERY strong evidence.
I bet your mate Hoyle even believes in evolution. What he's suggesting is that the very first instance of life is a very very unlikely occurrence, that's got little to do with evolution.
