My sister took both her kids this year. She chose not to take them when they were younger, but she took them at 12 and 13 yrs old. It's a whole different experience for her with her kids. They play laser tag and do artsy fartsy stuff with the kids and play chasing games and scavenger hunts, etc. She doesn't work in the Temple of Atonement when the kids are along.
I think that it's fine for kids to see what they see at Burning Man or whatever as long as the parents are available to answer questions and to put what they see into the proper context.
I was at HempFest a few weeks ago in Seattle and there were tons of people pushing strollers around all the pot smokers. Is that a problem for you? Everyone had clothes on. Does that make it different?
A lot of people believe that keeping your kids sheltered from things like nudity and drugs is what turns them into drugged out sluts when they turn 18.
