let them pick software/hardware for that amount or one of those minibikes I saw somewhere on a board that they are about a 1000$. Maybe give them some choises, not everybody likes the same things. I would go for something I could use but I'm a girl. I don't think guys would dig 1000$ woth lingerie from Victoria's secrets
