for what it's worth...
I got into a huge fight with my aunt once when she let my cousin (13 years old) come and stay with us for a couple of weeks a few summers ago.
She came down for the day and then as she was leaving she spit out some rules.
One of which was not to let him watch movies with nudity. I jokingly said I hid all the porn (she didn't laugh). So I said, "ok, what about Braveheart" It just came out on DVD not to long before then, and the Mrs. and myself enjoy watching it.
She said "sure."
I said, "ok, but it's really graphic with violence."
She didn't seem to bebothered by that at all. Se said it was ok for him to see violence because he knows it's not real.
I then reminded her that when Mel Gibson and his wife get married in that movie there is a brief topless shot of the female actress. "THEN, NO! He can't watch it!" she said.
I said, "but it's ok right... it's not real"
Needless to say she was pretty pissed.
That love scene is a beautiful thing. If violence teaches boys to be violent, then a beautiful love making scene (AS IN BRAVEHEART) can show them how to be loving. RIGHT?!?!?
Teach your kids nudity is dirty, and they'll turn into whores! OR they'll get all fucked up when they are older when it comes to sex.
