Some people come from different backgrounds from you. For some people, a job at sears making 35k a year might be a dream come true. Not everyone has lofty aspirations - and whereas you, and myself obviously wouldn't be happy in such a job - plenty of people are perfect contect and happy with said jobs.
And as has been mentioned before, not everyone can be millionares - we need people in jobs like this - so just be happy you are where you are, and don't spend so much time worrying about other people or you will never be happy yourself!

I didn't really read thru 5 pages of this....just skimmed. A lot of you said really good things.....I agree with you that people have different backgrounds. It's hard for some people to go to college. Not everyone has a rich background, not everyone has the financial support that a lot of people have.
We might not want a retail job but their is NOTHING wrong with this man making an honest living!
Would you rather him be on welfare, or selling drugs? The guy has an honest job, we can't judge a 40 year old b/c he has been 10 years in the same job. Maybe he likes it, maybe that's what his dream was.
I personally see nothing wrong with people trying to do the right thing and making their own living.
