Now my cats were raised all their lives as housecats, but when we lived in the boonies, they started to go outside.. one in particular started wandering far from home... he was gone for three months one time, we were sure he was dead... In the bush there are so many animals that eat cats... coyotes, bears, foxes, hawks, eagles, etc. But he came back...
So now we live in a nice urban area, the cats are going outside again. There's a huge greenspace across the road with woods and everything. They love going over there. Well lately I have been finding dead mice at the door every single morning. I figured it was natural they were mousers before they will always be. Then we were outside the other night at the BBQ, I had just let the big cat (Wacko) outside not even ten minutes before when I see him come back with somethign dead in his mouth.. something big. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was a baby rabbit! (There are like tons of them at the park, hundreds if not thousands). It was easily 1/3 his size, and he's not a small cat. He proceeded to eat it in front of us. Oi. I know the city was complaining about the rabbits becoming pests (they were pretty much epidemic this year), but wow... maybe I should rent him out to them, he's pretty efficient.
Figured I'd share, it was gross/amusing, whatever
