Can anybody tell me why all of my mpegs are coming out with .m2v extensions and no audio?

MPEG-1 is the only mpeg format that is working properly but Cleaner XL limits the resolution and I need 720x480 for this project.

I've been waiting all weekend to call tech support. Their manual and support site do not say anything about that extension other than it is supported as an input format.

Any help is appreciated.
