Something like this doesn't require a second chance. This is a grown man involved. He knows what he was doing.

Press as many charges as you can. Do not take pity on him. Don't wait until he does it again but next time takes it a step further, like breaking into your place.

A child stealing a candy bar may be given a second chance. An adult doing the same cannot be, and this is worse than stealing a candy bar, it's robbing somebody of their privacy and their feeling of safety.
