Dogs love it when they get to eat off your plate. That's more special (it's a social thing) than if you give them their own. The main thing is to get them trained to sit patiently until they get the plate. My dogs know they are going to get something, I just haven't been able to convince the cat it's not OK to try to help yourself
No biggie. Use hot water and antiseptic dishwashing liquid.
