Exactly my point. Same law in Oregon. WA has concealed weapons permits though. In Oregon, ours is a Concealed Handgun License so we are more limited. It sucks.
The cool thing is that both OR and WA have an agreement that lets a "permit" holder take the permit from one state, present it to the other state, and they can automatically get that other states permit. Also, the Oregon License carries over to a handful of other states without needing to register with the individual states. The only fucked up thing is that there is a gray area when it comes to the transportation of a loaded weapon across state lines. By law, I have to unload, cross the line, then I can reload. What kind of stupid shit is that?
Then there is the issue of "Bail Enforcement" officers or bounty hunters to most people. There are currently no laws requiring training or registration for this although they are currently attempting to pass them. Outstanding training and certification is available from a company in AZ.
Oregon does not allow bail bondsman to do business in the state but Washington does and any idiot who gets a job with a bail agent can carry "exotic' weapons without a fucking license. Most of the bail companies do not even do a thorough background check on their employees. This is a fucking time bomb that is long overdue for explosion. I fully support the laws they are attempting to pass on this.
