I'm not saying there is nothing to see in Israel and I am not trying to put down your country. All I am getting at is if you're on vacation (let's assume you are from some country where explosions are uncommon) and shit blows up outside your hotel window, killing people and causing pandemonium, are you really going to want to hang around? I don't think it would be very relaxing.
Also, I don't think this is a matter of Jews having it better in one place or the other. Whether you're a Jew or not, you don't want to see people dying while you're trying to relax and take in some sights.
