An army buddy & I always went camping in the deserts of arizona & california, when I lived out west..
You CAN grow shit in sand..
We made water..
1:dig small hole
2:wrap clear platic wrap over styrofoam cup
3
lace cup in hole
4:fill in hole, leaving only the top of cup exposed
5:morning take cup out of hole & drink
Also, with water, you can grow
1:Rice
2:cranberries
3:bean sprouts
4:algae
