It's your own mistake for NOT updating/switching DNS servers prior to your service going offline.
You're the idiot who doesnt know how to properly do a server switch and fucked it up..
You should have been running the site on BOTH MACHINES while you updated the DNS servers so that regargless of which IP they went to they would have gotten the right site. Once the world sees the new DNS changes is when you can get rid of the old machine.
ALL THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE BEFORE YOUR SERVICE WITH WEBAIR WAS FINISHED.
