Barry Bonds closing in on 700 career Home runs
With 694 home runs on his career Barry Bonds should eclipse 700 by the end of this season becoming only the third player in MLB history to reach the milestone.
Bonds is 40 years old. Do you think he has it in him to break the all-time record set by Hank Aaron? He will catch Ruth early next season. If he sticks around until 2006 there is a chance he will break the record.
Age and the fact that pitchers refuse to pitch to him are the only things setting him back.
If he breaks the record it will surely be the biggest accomplishment in American sports in my life time.
