Hi Marcus. We've been here 4 years and only had to deal with one (Michelle). The damage was something to see. One of the main roads lost a complete lane to the ocean. That was nuts. Anybody who has ever flown in to Nassau knows that if a Cat 4 or 5 hits this place dead on the airport is a goner.
I will say this, the homes here are built for hurricanes and take the hit real well. What doesn't do as well is the rest of the island. We went 14 days with no power after Michelle. The damage is usually to power lines, vehicles and boats.
