It's unlikely you're going to find any dental insurance that will cover something that's pre-existing.
IME, it's impossible to find REAL dental insurance unless you work for a big corporation and even then, the plans have suffered over the years.
What's out there are discount rates. You have to go to their dentists and most of the time those dentists will also find something else "wrong" with you so when you buy even more unneeded services at a discount, they can recoup their "losses".
When I had personal dental insurance, I never got to see the same dentist twice. Mostly because they were leaving and going to actual practices. And the insurance dentist told me 10 years ago I needed a crown replaced. I still haven't replaced it and it's fine.
My advice: Find a GOOD dentist who you trust, explain your financial situation, ask for a discount and/or payment plan
