later in life they take these teachings you instilled in them and when theyre in real trouble or just going thru shit or any other negative thing they dont come to you or wanna speak to you or seek you for advice because of the fear.
An explanation to the child as to why hes being punished along with privlages being taken away makes more of a lasting impression and the kid wont feel fearful if he fucks up.
