I may give this a shot but it REALLY would help to have the actual company name. It actually does matter when designing. The name may lend itself to a specific style. It could also containg letters that may look shitty in the chosen font.
It's your contest so if you just want something generic, that's cool, but I could really do a much better job of 'branding' the logo if I knew the actual name.
