The value of content depreciates very fast. Surfers only want to see a content set once (maybe twice) then it's boring (been there/done that). Then they want something new they haven't seen.

Surfers don't pay $30/month to join a paysite to see content that they've already seen 3 times. They pay to see new & fresh stuff they've never seen before.

It's all about new new new.

Think about watching sports on TV. It's fun to watch a basketball game the first time. What if I made you watch it again a week later? and again a week after that? and again a week after that? Same game, but after watching it the first time, it's not very interesting to watch it again and again and again.
