Its pretty sad, the country my parents are from which is a fairly new country has three medals, and Canada now has four - the same as thailand.

I actually read an article in the newspaper that indicated that Romania gives its gold medal winners and additional 50k, I believe the US gives its winner 25 (I could be wrong) and even Kenya gives its gold winners a flat screen tv washer and a dryer. Canadian gold medal winners receive nothing.
