They seemed pretty real, i was just a 18yr old headbanger but i was impressed none-the-less.
The closest to a rock star i know personally (knew) was the basist for 5 Man Electrical Band, he used to teach us guitar when we were in high school. And my wifes brother toured with RUSH as a drummer for 3 years. He now runs some big blues club in Montreal.
