Am I limited on my Shared Hosting account in terms of CPU usage or anything hardware related to performance?
If you purchase the bandwidth only plans then no, there are no restrictions on the bandwidth you purchase and we do not throttle accounts. Everything is fully burstable at maximum performance.
If you purchased a plan "as-is", with MySQL, PHP,& CGI access then yes, there are some limitations.
Generally scripts that process tens/hundreds of thousands of hits per day that are not written properly will cause a problem.
Scripts as mentioned above written in C usually do not cause any problems. So you are free to use such scripts.
Scripts as mentioned above written in PHP/MySQL usually do cause a problem. Please contact us and let us know the name of the software/script you would like to use and we'll let you know if there is a problem with it.
If you do have a site that is processing tens/hundreds of thousands of hits per day we suggest purchasing a dedicated server from us.
