Pornkings is correct..almost all of the major programs use this same type of business model. Which still does not make it right.

Years ago, the Magazine business and some other industry segments used similar misleading practices. These have all long since been cleaned up by federal legislation. The porn industry remains one of the few remaining "legal" enterprises to still get away with practices that would not be accepted in other segments.

And how do they do it, you ask?

Again the answer is simple. For local or federal politicians or agencies to regulate the industry more closely would imply that they are in a way accepting the industry. A headline in the New York Times, saying "Gov. (insert name here) pushes regulations through cabinet to regulate porn industry free trials" would be interpreted by most citizens to say "the Gov. supports Porn, as he is not simply shutting it down".

It's a no-win situation for regulators. So, in the meantime, the adult industry gets to continue to stretchhhhh the limits of acceptable business practices.
