the trv900 is a 3 chip camera
make sure you get a 3 chip
you basicly have 2 choices in your $ range:
the Sony trv900
or the Cannon GL
there are no other 3 chip DV Cams out there that I know of in this range.
The sony you can get at bhphoto.com for around 1500 bucks. check it out you wont find it cheaper new with even 10% of the same customer service.
the cannon is a little more pricey and has more zoom and a few extra features, and is a little over you budget, that's why i didn't mention it previously.
