You've misunderstood me.
ANY database can become corrupt. Access is a funny database engine, and does funny things. If the database you are using is not from the exact same version of AS that you have, you can have problems. Even it is, you can still have problems.
The best way to solve this is to have whomever gave you the database export the files to text one at a time, through advanced submitter. You can then import the text files to a new database.
I've fixed AS corruption problems like this before.
