Upon reflection it seems to me that trading traffic is circular and the same traffic is being pushed from one trading partner to the next.
This may drive up your hit counters, but what is the point of pushing the same traffic around? Is the point much like a CJ site; piss off the surfer from being misled by blind links so that he will signup for a paysite?

Maybe some of you will take the time to educate me about the benefits of trading traffic, and also the downside of trading traffic.

Thanks

The more traffic you have circulating, the more you have going to your sponsors.

Most of your traffic will be sent back out through trades, this is how traffic grows, or stabilizes.

Within this circle, a good number will end up clicking on a sponsor advertisement instead.

A simple example: I have a sponsor link right up at the top of my site. It might say something like "Visit this site for hot amateur girls"

A lot of traffic will click on it and go to my sponsor. Many dont. Those who dont, whether it be because they know that link goes to a paysite, or they dont want to see amateur girls, end up further down my site. This is where my galleries and other sponsors are. The surfer gets a few galleries, maybe clicks through on another sponsor, or is sent on his way through a trade link. (both real and blind is the best combination IMO)

Hopefully that trade will bring in a surfer who does click on my sponsor.

Multiply this times 50 thousand, and it adds up.
