Second, big thanks to Lady M, rapidly becoming one of my favourite people.
And the idea of throwing her shit out, and changing the locks is?.. very appealing. But I don?t think best in the long run. In the past the police have been called a number of times when she is drunk and harassing me. Once more should get her arrested, but I think she has learned that she can?t get in my face. Pity, in a way.
She can?t figure out why she can?t access her favourite web sites?. LOL
Selling the place falls into the ?cutting off your nose to spite your face? category.
As for the law on settling property after a relationship ends, there is a lot of confusion out there.
In Ontario, it is only property acquired during the relationship, and increases in value of property, that are subject to division. What I had when we met is mine, and what she has is hers. There is no sharing of that. An exception, if you are married (not common law) is the matrimonial home. That is split, as my father discovered to his chagrin.
She has a much greater financial delta over the time we have been together than I do. I can thank Nortel for a lot of that. But, if it gets nasty, I can sue her for cash.
She did apologize for how she acted last night.
I just want to move forward. Get her ass out sometime this year.
