If Canada really wanted to put the hurt on the US, we'd just shut off the oil and gas in the middle of some winter. 17% of US oil usage and a whopping 87% of US natural gas usage sources from Canada. We're the #1 provider of energy south, beating out Saudi, Mexico, Venezuela et al.
The US depends on Canadian exports of raw materials to survive... Canada utilizes US export primarily for heavy machinery and processed metals.
