I've had loads but it depends what you want:
Ruger M77 in .308 is a great deer gun but a Winchester .357 underlever is more fun (yee-haw!)
Beretta 92F is cool but the Taurus made under licence in Brazil (I think) is cheaper and better made (IMHO)
Semi-auto is ok but there is always the risk of a jam, especially if you carry every day and get sloppy with dust and s**t getting into it, sooo, a wheel gun never lets you down!
I like Ruger's GP100 in .357 but you can't beat a Smith mod 686 in the same calibre (but I've got small hands)
What is fun and has lots of 'presence' is an IMI Deasert Eagle in .44 bt its a LOT of gun to carry and you need hands like the hulk to use it.
My preferences have been Colt's .380 (9mm short to you) Government - its a .45 1911 scalled down to a smaller calibre and with glaser ammo it does everything you'll ever need. Personal fave though has been a Baretta .22 short semi auto - its a scalled down mod 92F and its just great!
But like they say, when you absolutely definately godda kill every mother f****r in the room - its an uzi!
Hope this helps
