well part of it would be , lets say if i post an image in this thread with some good tags , google will pick up the page as it crawls it and it will pick up the image, now when you search using google image search , it will display the picture thumbnail and this thread. ( even though the picture may be on another server )
But theres more. If you can pick up a blacklisted domain with lots of listed pages ( images ) it can be worth your while.
