It's odd to me that all sponsors you're using would converts good and drop off like that... Is this bookmark type traffic? That would explain alot. The same old surfers get all excited when they see something new, they sign up all at once, then the numbers would dwindle away.
At least with us you have 5 sites that you could experiment with and switch out now and then.
