oh hey lost this post... the class I normally raced in was around 130mph to 140 mph around Daytona.. we ran the full road course just like the super bikes and the 24 hour cars.

twin engines are too much of a pane in the aruse getting them in sync and so on.. If I wanted to go faster I'd just set up a shifter enduro kart. I drove a 250 cc Rotax powered Kart at a track called Robleing Road in Georgia (where I won a National WKA race ) I didn't know for sure how fast it topped out at but I'd say easily 150mph down the front straightway.. At Daytona or a bigger track I don't see why the 250 cc enduros couldn't get up into the 160mph -170mph range.. but that's just guessing the top speed.

The 250cc's are more than a death trap IMO but probably the closest thing you can get to power and weight ratio, and handling of a F-1 car.

The only thing I don't like about the kinda of karts you are looking at is you can't run full bodies on them. So wheel to wheel contact happens quite a bit and as a result it causes a lot of flips and so on, that with a full body protecting the tires wouldn't happen. However the types of tracks you run with those karts are much shorter so you probally never get above 50-60mph so it dosn't hurt as much to crash
