| Very few actors have business skills.  The studios and producers are the ones who make the lion's share of the big money in Hollywood.  
 There's probably not even 500 actors who make millions if that.
 
 Then the cost of living big out there is nutzo.  You can literally spend it as fast as it comes in.
 
 The old time big name stars made their fortunes in real estate.  Guys like Bob Hope, Bing Cosby and Dean Martin would take what was then worthless land instead of big paychecks.  That land eventually became prime real estate worth a fortune.  They were all frugal and watched their pennies.
 
 Plus you have to remember even a star getting paid say $10 Mil a year has to give 10% to the agent, 5% to their lawyer, about 15% to all the other high end people that make them what they are, and then Uncle Sam scoops its bite.  If an actor ends up with a couple mil left after everyone else take their end and they pay all their lifestyle bills, that's about it.
 
 The only way to really accumulate wealth is to own part of the show or movie.  Then you can get really wealthy.  But only a handful can demand that kind of deal.
