The stories online don't mention that they also bludgened the household dog to death. I guess they figured the dog was in on the conspiracy to keep his property away from him. These animals should have been welded into cages long ago. They had no business walking amongst humans.
This is what happens when you put someone convicted of battery, arson, burglary, auto theft and theft back on the street.

we're too busy locking up nonviolent drug offenders. The penalties for some truly heinous crimes are less than if you get caught with a pound of weed.
