I believe in god. Even so, i can't use the bible to justify circumcision. When i have a son, there is no way i am going to inflict pain on him or take away a useful part of his body for any fucking god. Any god that would want me to mutiliate my child is no god of mine.

Circumcision was a covenant between God and the Jews. Christians are not bound by this covenant so it's up to them what they want to do. If you're a religious Jew, on the other hand, I believe it is still required.
I would do it because of the health benefits long term and because of the socal factors (we live in a circumcised society). The pain to the child is minimal and the procedure doesn't last very long at all.
I think it is wrong for anyone to criticize a parent for making whatever choice they feel is in the best interest of their child.
