Man, this is good stuff. I do know a guy who hosts a shitload of adult sites from his house. He has 2 SERVERS, not desktops. We're talking twin processors and 1GB+ RAM running Solaris. Then he got a T3 brought to his house from Sprint. That's the ONLY way to really host things from home. Unless you can afford to do that, just cough up the $25-$100 a month that you would need for a REAL host. There is a time to be cheap and when you're choosing a host IS NOT the time.
Try to host on a cable modem and see what happens. You'll get a nastygram from your cable co in no time. You'll be lucky if they just shut you down for excessive bandwidth usage.
