Give
SP Utilities a try. It does a lot more than just erase Internet records. It's pretty much a compendium of tools including a downloader, encrypter, shredder, popup blocker, private favourites, directory lister, cache viewer, and more...
It gives a choice of classes of wipe - basic/fast to secure (1 - 35 pass)/slower. It plugs into Internet/Windows Explorer so uses v little resources. You can do a complete system wipe or just remove a single Internet session's records.
