i'm curious to learn what they teach you in school about the invasion in Cyprus.
On the morning of 20th July 1974, Turkey announced to the world that it was mounting a "peace-keeping operation" in Cyprus to restore "constitutional order".
"Peacekeeping"
Though Turkish planes dropped leaflets on Cyprus promising peace and friendship, the operation was code-named "Attila" by the Turkish military command.
The Turkish forces landed near Kyrenia. They killed civilians, raped women and looted properties. Meanwhile Turkish airforce planes screaming low all over Cyprus bombed hospitals, homes and hotels and burned forests and fields. They used napalm bombs.
