Actually you tell it what to change it to. It does not make that type of decision for you.
Protect My Ads! only does what you tell it to.
Surf to your site using Norton Security with the ad blocker on or ad muncher. If you see your ads you don't need it. If your ads are missing..... Hmmmmmm..... Then take a look at Protect My Ads!
