Honestly, I don't really belive that.

If you do unethical stuff to get high rankings, people can always analyze your backlinks, then you'll be discovered. Then after a while you'll be gone.

So while scammers are constantly working to build more deceptive stuff (and are constantly losing their short term positions), honest people are reinforcing their listings for long term.

That's my take.
