What you are experiencing is the biggest problem with large conventions. It is very expensive to have a big party, so much so that mutiple sponsors have to participate to lower their costs. But how many is too many --- would it be better to limit the number of people at the party? Wouldn't you be more upset if there was no room for all of your own guests?
Exposure is not cheap at Internext --- and come Monday morning most people don't remember which parties they went to, let alone who sponsored them.
Internext is a fun show, its great to see everyone in one place. But people need to be mindful of the sponsors and make a real effort to do some biz with them for their efforts. The sponsors of all tradeshow parties do it to support the industry and treat everyone to a good time.
