Respect your elders. that i dont "get." why should i respect somebody based solely on the reason their parents fucked before mine. I have met many old stupid people who have the wisdom of corky thatcher. Respect is earned. being younger than someone doesnt automatically, nor should it, make you respect another older person.
Same with respect your parents. What if you're parents are twits? Druggies, dead beats, etc. Why are they entitled to respect? Simply because they exchanged bodilly fluids that resulted in fertilization? Funk That! I respect my parents because my dad worked 60 hours a week with a bad heart to put food on the table and my mom because she litterally sacraficed her life and aspiriations to bring me and my two brothers into this world. Respect is earned.
I think these two points is one of the reasons for schisms between the generations. I think younger people are thinking for themselves more and more these days and figuring things out based on empiricisim rather than hear say.
