I just got back from the theatre. I enjoyed it.
It's not an action movie or a traditional horror movie.
If you like hollywood-ish films, it's not for you.
... that's the nice way to phrase it - what I might also add is that people who need explosions and FX and eyecandy and/or traditional tired plots with cliche relationships/romances and established form, probably aren't the target audience anyway - we get enough movies like that.
I like movies that just play with ideas. A movie can impress me just by being different. I can also deal with the story being moved along by pure tension. I don't need a money shot every 10 minutes to keep me interested. He writes people in such a unique way that I could just watch them talk to eachother for two hours.
It's a typical M. Night Shyamalan movie, in that it has a strange character of it's own,
in that it feels more like a small independent film, with the budget to hire name actors.
This is one of those movies that some people will really love while others can't understand the appeal at all.
