Under your program EVERYONE would go to Yale to get an education. Guess what? I don't have a degree and have never needed one! I've got a 400k crib in CO that proves it. And I thank God that the US Military, showed me how to work hard.
Every kid has the RIGHT to go to college, by performing, and getting scholarships, and by being SMART. Your idea totally smacks of communism, where all are SCHOOLED because it's morally right (under the government)..... There are 13 jazillion ways to go to college. The right to attend is NOT the right to pay... I've got enough on my "Enfamil" tab with one. If he goes, fine... if not, he'll still be okay, because he'll know how to be a performer.

Going to college doesn't mean that you will automatically get a good job any more than not going to college means that you will never get a good job. Going to college will, however, give you more opportunities to get a good job than not going to college will. If you combine that with hard work, your odds of succeeding will be that much better.
Everyone should have the opportunity to go to college. That begins with all children having access to good public school educations which will prepare them to succeed in college. Having the opportunity doesn't mean that you don't have to work hard to achieve your goals.
