For the AVS, we got an AVS response code U (Address information is unavailable), but the tranaction still was approved. And some transaction had code S (Service not supported by issuer). Seems I didn't get any fraud protection.The recent chargebacks made the store lost almost $1000.
I am not the store owner, I am just working on the website. Hopefully that choosing goemerchant.com wasn't my decision. It was chosen before I am here. I don't know much about the merchant account, so I don't know how complicated it would be to do what keev suggested (it does sound complicate). Here I still have more questions:
What's the difference between using an online gateway and "going with my own merchant account"? Is there any advantage using online gateway? What kind of services they would or should provide? Normally how the fraud protection is executed? How do they handle the foreign order (out of USA)?How much is the fee for the online gateway?
You can consider me as a total newbie. I may even asked the wrong question. So please any explanation, suggestion would be very appreciated.
