Process lists and performance monitoring over a period of time. It may not be his script that is doing it. It may be you need to increase the number of apache daemons running, it may be another part of whatever else you have running causing it, it could be any of those things. Do you have an email addr that i can discuss this with you tomorrow(monday) ? Don't know how much unix skills you have, but i can walk you through some things to test....
